EWR Airport is a regional airport with flights from AllegiantAmericanDeltaFrontierUnited, and US Airways. There are direct flights to Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, D.C., Philadelphia, NYC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Houston, and Dallas.


Newark is at the intersection of McCarter Highway and Bergen Turnpike, providing convenient road transportation to D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, and the NC Research Triangle.

Greyhound has a depot in newark, adjacent to Downtown. However transportation to/from the Greyhound station to the conference hotel will most likely need to be done in a taxi.

Megabus also provides low-cost busing from Atlanta, Philadelphia  and Washington D.C. The Megabus stop in newark is adjacent to Downtown at the Newark Penn Station, however transportation to/from the Megabus station to the conference hotel will most likely need to be via taxi.


New Jersey Transit offers frequent rail service to/from Newark Liberty Airport to/from the City of Newark and New York City.

Newark Penn Station is within one mile from Rutgers University-Newark and is the city's major train station. The train ride from Newark Liberty Airport to/from Penn Station Newark is approximately 5 minutes and costs $8.25.Newark Penn Station connects the interurban PATH system (which links Newark to Manhattan) with three New Jersey Transit commuter rail lines and Amtrak service to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

The second train station, which is located within half a mile from Rutgers University-Newark is the Newark Broad Street Station and it is served by two New Jersey commuter rail lines. The Newark Penn Station and the Broad Street Station are linked by the Newark Light Rail system.

The best way to get around newark is by car. Downtown is walk-able but beyond that car is the best option. There is a limited bus system
